The ongoing outbreak of SARS-CoV-2 presents significant, if not unprecedented, challenges for every section of society, and that includes football and the arts.
It also includes the Fan.tastic Females exhibition, which for the past year or so has toured the continent, highlighting the experiences of women and girls in European fan culture.
For obvious reasons, this is no longer possible, at least for the foreseeable future.
The Fan.tastic Females team, however, have devised an innovative solution to ensure that the tour continues: a three-dimensional online exhibition, originally filmed at the FC St. Pauli Museum, where the project began in September 2018. The online exhibition incorporates all 78 Fan.tastic Females interviews, as well as the historical and contemporary statistics detailed on the physical exhibition’s panels.
Interested individuals and organisations must first make a donation on the Fan.tastic Females website. They will then receive a TicketCode which can be used to access the content.
In addition, the team have planned a series of accompanying events encompassing online lectures, panel discussions, and workshops. Further information on these events will be shared in due course.
